The 2025 NHL Draft schedule takes place over two days in late June 2025 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. This will be the 63rd NHL Entry draft to take place. While details are being finalized, we expect that all rounds will be shown live on TV and streaming services. Once confirmed we will have all of the broadcast details and first round draft order for you below. All of the scheduling information and prices are based on the 2024 NHL Draft until confirmed by the league. The 2024 NHL draft was shown on ESPN on day one, and on ESPN+, NHLN, SN, and SN1.
Can You Attend the 2025 NHL Draft in Person?
We can expect the NHL to sell ticks again to attend either day of the draft. Once the Peacock Theater and dates are confirmed, they will go on sale. The theater has a seating capacity of 7,100, but we don’t know yet how many of the seats will be available to the public. Prices were in the low $$$ for closer seats last year for day 1, and day 2 seats were much cheaper $$.
What is the 2025 NHL Draft Schedule? TV Coverage?
The 2025 NHL Draft schedule will be a two day event in late June. The draft always takes place after the Stanley Cup Finals. The first round of the draft is covered live on ESPN and typically starts around 7PM Eastern Time on the day. Since it’s being hosted in LA, we could see this adjusted somewhat for time zones this year. The second day will start around 11 AM Eastern Time and cover rounds two through seven.
Who Won the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery?
The 2025 NHL Draft Lottery will take place in early May once we are into the second round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The first 16 picks of the draft are set by the lottery. Then, the 12 teams who lose in the first two rounds of the playoffs get assigned picks 17-28. If they did not win their division, they were set in the opposite order of the regular season standings (points). The conference finals losers get picks 29 and 30. The Stanley Cup runner-up gets pick 31, and the Stanley Cup champion gets pick 32.
